A stamp for President Sauli Niinistö

On 21 September, Åland Post released My Åland, Sauli Niinistö, part of its series about people with close ties to Åland. Together with Åland Post, I proposed the theme of security, turvallisuus and trygghet, and Niinistö's handwritten words appear on the stamp.

I wanted a timeless motif with a Renaissance-inspired palette, symbolic elements and a calm mood. My youngest daughter is the model and the hands are her older sister's. A white dove stands for peace, and the archipelago is the view from the Notvik Tower at Bomarsund, a place close to Niinistö's heart.

Designed with Johanna Finne and printed by Gutenberg AG in an edition of 30,000, the stamp is on sale until 21 March 2027. Thank you to Åland Post for the trust.
